Providing Customized Healthcare in Yarmouth, Maine

Origin Story

Dani and Bonnie met in acupuncture school and quickly became close friends, often discussing the idea of one day opening a practice together. After graduation, life took them in different directions as they each explored their own paths. A few years later—thanks to the right timing, some unexpected twists, and a little bit of fate—they found themselves in Maine, ready to bring their shared vision to life. River’s Edge Acupuncture is the result of that long-standing dream: a welcoming space where people can feel supported, grounded, and well.

ACUPUNCTURE, HERBAL MEDICINE & ENERGY WORK

Danielle Gaglini (Dani) is a licensed acupuncturist and the co-founder of River’s Edge Acupuncture. She holds a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University and a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College. She is currently completing her Doctoral training at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. Dani has also served as a graduate teaching assistant at the NESA and completed clinical rotations at the VA Hospital and community clinics in the northeast region

As soon as she became board-certified, Dani opened a private practice within the NH Health & Wellness Center — one of the largest integrative medicine institutions in New England. This dynamic opportunity allowed her to support a variety of people and conditions, cultivate deep patient-provider relationships, and collaborate with a team to elevate individual-centered care.

On her own healing journey, Dani discovered the power of the mind-body connection and believes this is one of the most essential pathways towards wholeness. Over the past decade, she has led yoga, meditation, and breath workshops around the world, became a Reiki master, and learned sound frequency therapy and orthopedic bodywork to expand her offerings to the community.

In the treatment room, Dani meets you with compassion, felt perception, and thoughtful analysis. She offers unique and highly in depth sessions that integrate her background in Traditional Eastern Medicine with intuitive energy work. Using hands on touch, intentional listening, and ancient diagnostic modalities, her ultimate goal is to provide you with a supportive space to co-facilitate your innate healing and restoration.

Dani’s special interest includes all types of pain - chronic, acute, physical, emotional, and existential. She also frequently treats autoimmune conditions, complex disease dynamics, headaches and migraines, and neurological disorders.

ACUPUNCTURE & HERBAL MEDICINE

Bonnie Freitas is a licensed acupuncturist and co-founder of River’s Edge Acupuncture, specializing in women’s health and hormone balance. She supports patients through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause, as well as conditions such as painful or irregular periods, endometriosis, and PCOS. Bonnie also works with perinatal concerns including nausea, heartburn, labor preparation, and low milk supply, offering thoughtful, individualized care through every stage of the reproductive journey.

In addition to women’s health, Bonnie regularly treats pain, digestive conditions such as IBS, bloating, and acid reflux, along with chronic headaches, migraines, anxiety, stress, and sleep concerns.

Her approach to treatment is rooted in presence, careful listening, and collaboration. Bonnie blends multiple ways of understanding the body — through conversation, palpation, pulse, and other diagnostic tools — to create treatments that are both precise and deeply supportive. Sessions are unhurried and personalized, creating space for patients to feel seen, understood, and at ease.

Bonnie holds a Master of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts. Her clinical training includes rotations at the VA Hospital, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, a community acupuncture clinic, a wellness studio, and Jade Integrated Health, an integrative acupuncture and physical therapy practice. She has also completed advanced, in-depth training with seasoned practitioners in women’s health and Chinese herbal medicine, with a focus on thoughtful and effective herbal medicine.
